If you weren’t already aware, it’s officially summertime and it is hot outside! Commonly known (and dreaded by many women) as ‘bathing suit season’, this time of year is when those who feel uncomfortable exposing their bodies tend to hide behind towels and cover-ups. Cassie Young, Web and Social Media Director at Q100’s morning talk show, the Bert Show, is encouraging women to cover up no more, because every woman should feel beautiful in her OWN body, no matter the shape or size.
Viral social media campaign, #SuitYourself, originated to empower women to feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin. The Bert Show is encouraging women to post a picture of yourself in a bathing suit to social media utilizing the hashtag #SuitYourself and a comment showcasing reasons why you love your body.
Every woman deserves to rock that perfect bathing suit they have been eyeing in the mall, and most importantly, feel comfortable in their own skin this summer. Challenge yourself and others to take a swimsuit selfie today and tell everyone what YOU love about YOUR body! Here are some ways you can step out of your comfort zone (or cover-up) to take the #SuitYourself challenge!
- Rock that new bathing suit! This is the perfect occasion to show off your new suit.
- Have fun with it! Grab your girlfriends, make some cocktails and have a group photo shoot.
- On vacation? Show off your temporary digs by jumping in the shot!
