Mother’s Day is right around the corner and if you’re a mom or mother-to-be, we salute you! Mothers are the most important women in our lives and considered… well, super heroes! They make you soup when you’re sick, kiss you when you’re hurt, and always seem to know what you’re thinking before you even say a word. In honor of Mother’s Day, we’re highlighting a super mom that is not only a mother of two beautiful children, Madilyn and Mason, but also the Founder/CEO of The Evan Grace Group and new children’s book author.
Meet Monyetta Shaw, author of The Adventures of Maddie book series…
Monyetta Shaw is the perfect combination of business woman, entrepreneur and dedicated mother. A supporter of The Compound Foundation, The League of Women Voters, Beyond the Game Foundation and National Black Arts Festival, Monyetta has been recognized with honors such as the Philanthropist of the Year Award and acknowledged as one of the Top 25 Influential Women in Atlanta. Beyond her achievements as an entrepreneur, philanthropist and now author, Shaw believes her most important accomplishment is being a mother. Her dedication to family, business and service to others proves that it is possible to not only have it all, but to do it all well.
The Adventures of Maddie: Meet Maddie takes the reader through the day-by-day interactions of a happy, playful little girl. Inspired by Monyetta’s young daughter Madilyn, The Adventures of Maddie: Meet Maddie is a relatable story with elements that ring true to any young child. The brief, cheery narrative shows Maddie playing sports with friends, tackling school work and spending time with her parents. While the publication is light-hearted, Shaw touches on several values important to a child’s education. Through various activities, Maddie is shown exercising such virtues as sharing, obedience and good sportsmanship – essential character traits to the development of any child.
Shaw has watched her children grow in the world and wanted to share her experiences of motherhood. “My family is my strength, they guide and nurture me; everything I am is for them. I now know the meaning of unconditional love. This book is my way of scrapbooking their experiences, leaving a documented legacy for my children to cherish for a lifetime.” says Shaw.
