Exit Through The Gift Shop

As admirers of all things creative we are constantly scouring around for killer inspiration to incorporate into projects. Sometimes it comes from the web, books and other media and sometimes it comes from real world experiences. Recently we were drawn to a film called “Exit Through The Gift Shop”, Banksy’s Oscar-nominated documentary about the rise of the street artist. The star – Thierry Guetta aka Mr. Brainwash.

Since the release of the documentary, there has been much speculation that the film and story of Mr. Brainwash are a hoax concocted by Banksy and Shepard Fairey themselves. However, if Guetta is a hoax, there also exists the possibility that these artworks are actually produced by Banksy himself, in a style deliberately intended to suggest inferior artistic skill. Below are a few pieces of his work.
