ATLANTA MOON RIDE PROVIDES FUN FOR A CAUSE DURING FOURTH ANNUAL BIKE RIDE

The first night-cycling event of its kind to be introduced to the city, the Atlanta Moon Ride is back for its fourth year on Friday, June 10th. The festivities include a pre-party in the park starting at 6 p.m., followed by a fun, safe, 6-mile bike ride through some of Atlanta’s coolest neighborhoods. Featuring after-dark antics, participants are encouraged to ride with flair – dressing in costumes, decorative helmets, glow sticks, bullhorns – anything goes.

The nighttime cruise will start and end at Piedmont Park, safely taking participants on a scenic and traffic-free route through Midtown, Ansley Park, Historic Old Fourth Ward, Morningside and the Virginia Highland neighborhoods.

General admission starts at $35 and includes a highly sought-after Atlanta Moon Ride t-shirt, which was handpicked this year by the general public through a fan-based design contest hosted by Creative Loafing – Atlanta. Admission also includes a wristband for entry into the official kick-off party starting at 6 p.m. Event packet pick-up will be available the week of the ride at locations such as Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall and Tin Lizzy’s Cantina.

The outdoor kick-off party will include live music featuring headlining band Electric Avenue, performing a set including tributes to late greats David Bowie and Prince. Attendees can enjoy a variety of bites and refreshment options from food trucks and local vendors such as Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Shock Top and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Bai Drinks will also be on-site with a photo booth for attendees to capture the night.
Festival-goers can stay in the city after the ride, as the W Atlanta – Midtown is offering a special rate for participants. Additional featured sponsors include Choose ATL, The Color Spot, Vida Flow, Peachtree Tents and Events & Yoo on the Park.

VIP accommodations are available for $90 per ticket and will include entry into a private, tented area with air-conditioned bathrooms, VIP bicycle valet, private check-in, seating, and a private bar with bottled water and signature Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails and Shock Top beer.

All proceeds from the Atlanta Moon Ride will benefit local charity Bert’s Big Adventure. Bert’s Big Adventure is a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.
